City Asks Occupy to Vacate Green

(3/12/2012) The City of New Haven Monday distributed a notice to members of Occupy New Haven. The notice states that Wednesday, March 14 will be the last day tents, structures, and other materials will be lawfully permitted on the New Haven Green. All structures and tents must be removed. Any items not removed by noon on Wednesday may be removed and discarded. The notice encourages anyone wishing assistance in housing issues to contact the Columbus House at 203-772-4200, ext. 2120.

The City has been respectful of the movement’s message, but it is now time for Occupy New Haven to remove their structures and personal items from Green.

There will be no further statements issued today regarding Occupy New Haven. City and Police Department officials will not be available for on camera interviews on this matter.
